What do you make / create? Illustrations and paintings, which I make into prints, cards, posters. I also make block-printed tea towels.
What inspired you to be a maker? I grew up in a house of makers, and I am happiest when I am creating something. It’s like breathing for me. Aside from reading, watching movies, hiking or riding my bike, it’s pretty much all I do.
What is your day job? I have been teaching art to kids for forever–29 years! I After 20 years at the same school, I just resigned from my position. Time to focus on my own artwork!
What is your connection to the neighborhood? I have been friends with Laura Thorpe for years and years and I have visited her family on Cabrini Blvd. a number of times. My daughter recently moved into the neighborhood with her partner, so when I come for a visit from Berkeley, I can see them all in one fell swoop.
